Mr. Moore grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, the last of four children born to a school teacher and a pastor, who migrated to America from Jamaica. Although from the same island, his parents met during their collegiate studies in Atlanta, GA, where they also became friends with many Civil Rights leaders, including Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Being “a son of preacher man”, Mr. Moore grew up in a family full of performers, orators and musicians. In his teenage years, he began to find his own voice, when he started to soar in Debate and Forensics competitions - winning numerous state and regional trophies and then qualifying and competing in the National Competitions during his final two years of High School.
He was awarded a full ride to both the University of Missouri – Kansas City, where he earned a double BA in English and Theatre and The Yale School of Drama, where he graduated with his Masters in Fine Arts before the age of 25.
As an artist, Mr. Moore is committed to empowering others through the representation of stories that are not often told. In particular, Mr. Moore is an advocate for increased visibility of people from a diverse pool of color, ages, sexual identities and walks of life.
